Kyra Medical, Inc. is a privately company that creates beautiful, easy to use patient positioning products that are designed to make surgical procedures safer for both the patient and the clinician. Kyra designs its products to prevent patients from developing nerve and tissue damages during surgery, to reduce the risk of surgical site infections, and to make it safer and easier for clinicians to properly position patients . Kyra Medical’s leadership team has over 100 years of experience in the surgical device /equipment market and hold over 75 issued patents.


Nanoramic Laboratories


Nanoramic specializes in material solutions based on nano-carbons. Nano-carbons have exceptional electrical, thermal and mechanical properties at the nano-scale level. We synthesize and incorporate nano-carbons in various materials and transfer these properties at the macroscale level, addressing the needs of several applications. Nanoramic's ultracapacitor division, FastCAP Ultracapacitors, is an industry leader in harsh environment energy storage, producing the only ultracapacitors capable of operating in temperatures up to 150ºC and under conditions of high shock and vibration.

ProteoWise was founded by a seasoned team of scientists from the Strittmatter Laboratory at Yale University which has a history of commercialization of innovations emerging from the lab.  ProteoWise aims to unlock the protein world.  Its technology will disrupt the protein analysis industry by enabling researchers to move beyond the current Western Blot standard and into easy, high-throughput bench-top proteomics.


Trailhead Biosystems


Trailhead Biosystems merges developmental biology and cell therapeutics with cutting edge hardware, and computerized experimental design and analysis to perform process-specific parameter optimization to develop cell therapies. Our computer-based experimental designs greatly reduces the number of experiments and time otherwise needed for running one-factor-at-a-time experiments to optimize a large number of variables.

Trailhead Biosystems is a spinout company from the National Center for Regenerative Medicine's OH-Alive Platform. This platform is funded by the Ohio Third Frontier which made the commercial venture possible.

The Department of Defense recently announced the combined award of nearly $300 million to the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI). This new institute, led by industrialist Dean Kamen, will be the 12th Manufacturing USA institute established, and brings together a consortium of 87 partners from across industry, academia, and government to develop the manufacturing technologies for life-saving cells, tissues, and organs. Trailhead Biosystems is part of this consortium.
